This week’s featured art is Cliff Hanger 7.28.2007 by Notley Hawkins

Now that is one fast carnival ride!

I’m not usually impressed by this technique - it’s far too frequently done with city streets and highways. Boring! This piece though, this one is different. The subject is compelling, the lighting is fantastic, and the angle of the shot is dramatic. Great photography.

The mat and frame are standard - I would have liked to see it presented with a darker mat to better make the spinning wheel stand out - but they are both customizable by the buyer. Remember, too, that all art at Imagekind can be purchased without frames or mats.

Prices for Cliff Hanger 7.28.2007 begin at $21.22, subject to change.

The NoFollow Tag

August 28, 2007 · Filed Under Site Management · Comments

DoFollow, NoFollow ImageBack in May, I wrote an entry describing the anti-NoFollow movement and my involvement in that area. I installed a WordPress plugin that was supposed to remove the rel="nofollow" code from the links in my comments. I discovered recently that it was not working the way it should have been.

I have replaced that plugin with another, the DoFollow plugin. This looks to work perfectly, but if you do see any links that the rel="nofollow" code is showing up on, please let me know.

This week’s featured art is Rain by JGoode

I love this piece! It’s really clever, and I can totally see putting a large print of this over a fireplace for a surreal effect, like you’re looking through the chimney. I might have chosen a darker mat, but buyers can customize the frame and mat when purchasing.

Prices for Rain begin at $16.98, subject to change.

This week’s featured art is Gothic Beach Beauty by Ophelia’s Art

As we near the end of summer here, I thought one more trip to the beach would be a good idea. I’m a big fan of Ophelia and the art she creates. I’m reminded of one of my favorite comic book series, The Sandman - and similar DC Vertigo titles.

Color - or, the lack thereof in many instances - is used with precision. Attention to detail is one of her main strengths, from the wrinkles in the tent to the texture in the sand. Whereas many artists at ImageKind tend to use the default mat and frame, Ophelia shows how much she cares about her art by choosing a perfect frame and mat combination for this piece.

Prices for Gothic Beach Beauty begin at $29.97, subject to change.

This week’s featured art is lakesunset by jan carr

This is so cool. This is an example of cylinder anamorphosis (Google it), an 18th century method of obscuring a subject. You can only view the obscured image normally by placing a mirrored cylinder in the middle of the piece. This is a modern-day version of that technique.

I really enjoy the use of color in this piece, but I hate the frame and mat choice. Jazz it up a little! Fortunately, the buyer may customize the frame and mat when purchasing from Imagekind. Click on through!

Prices for lakesunset begin at $16.98, subject to change.

This week’s featured art is Butterfly Series 03 by Rebecca Richardson

The Butterfly series wraps up here with the third installment, and what a finish it is! Such a perfect use of color and space… this is a fantastic piece. I love how the background wing is colorless while the foreground wing is in full color.

When I clicked into Imagekind today to find some art for my weekly review, Ms. Richardson was noted as the Featured Member. I totally understand why. Her art is wonderful, and I give my highest recommendations for all her galleries.

Click through to see more.

Prices for Butterfly Series 03 begin at $10.61, subject to change.
