New Imagekind Promotion: Free Shipping!
Starting today, enjoy free U.S. ground shipping at Imagekind!
I’m always thrilled to see a free shipping promotion at Imagekind. The “All You Need is Love” promotion is in effect until February 7th, 2008 at 10:00pm PST. Use the promo code LOVE2008 when checking out to receive free U.S. ground shipping. The offer is valid on all art, not just art that is all lovey-dovey.
Congratulations to Lisa Willis for winning the Create Your Heart Out contest!
Last week, I posted about a contest going on at Imagekind, wherein one lucky winner would have his or her art featured in an upcoming Imagekind promotion. Well, Lisa Willis is that winner, and this is her winning entry, All You Need is Love - an entry so good they named the promotion after it.
Well done, Lisa!
Imagekind Newsletter: A Contest!
A new Imagekind newsletter went out today - you may view it here.
The newsletter touched on three things: a new contest, the improved Imagekind bulk uploader, and the differences between museum wrap and gallery wrap.
Of particular interest is the contest, dubbed “The Create Your Heart Out” contest. It’s open to everyone with an Imagekind account, and is a great opportunity for artists - an opportunity to be featured in an upcoming mailing that will be going out to the Imagekind shoppers list:
“Submit your favorite Heart or Heart Inspired image and one lucky artists’ work will be featured in our Valentine’s promotional email sent to all of our Shoppers. Any medium will do. The winning image will be selected by our Marketing and Design team. So get busy and send us your Heart inspired work today! We can’t wait to see what you create!”
I’m also thrilled to see an artist featured in the newsletter that I promoted over at Artistic Opinions not long ago, Wendy Edelson - that’s a sampling of her piece, “First Kiss”, to the left. Congratulations, Wendy!

Imagekind Art Review Builder: Version 2.0 is Live
The Imagekind Art Review Builder has been updated to version 2.0! I’ve moved it here to my core domain, danielmclark.com, from my Modest Opinions site, so current users will need to update their toolbar buttons. Sorry for the inconvenience, but you’ll only need to do it once
The new address is: http://www.danielmclark.com/tools/ikreviewbuilder.php
Here’s what’s new:
Version 2.0.0:
- This will be the last feature revision until after Success with Imagekind.com is released. Bug fixes will be implemented as soon as possible if anyone finds one.
- Tabs! Went slightly nuts with Spry assets in Dreamweaver. Added tabs everywhere. Hey, they’re handy for on-the-spot help and documentation. Added a few “What is This?” tabs to help you guys out in that regard.
- Greatly expanded on the instructions for use, now found in the Step-By-Step tab.
- Put the formatted ShareASale URL right up top, no need to click the Generate the Code button to get to it anymore.
- Added inline editing functinality to the formatted ShareASale URL display as well as the toolbar button’s line of code (Get the Toolbar Button tab).
- Removed the need for new users to visit a separate page to get the toolbar button; put that functionality in the Get the Toolbar Button tab.
- Moved the tool to my core domain from my Modest Opinions site.
- Enabled the option to assign an affiliate link to the Imagekind homepage in the post-review frequency line.
- New link cloaking feature. Click the “What is this” tab to learn more about it.
- Added a “What is this” tab to the custom tracking field.
- Added the artist’s visible tags for reference.
- Added the name of the gallery that the art is in for reference.
- Yet more layout changes - never trust a creative perfectionist to code a web tool. Emphasized the module look with headers. Expanded the Generate the code! button. Moved the ShareASale ID box to the bottom - just double check it before you generate the code, ‘k?
- Bug fixes:
- - Corrected the link generation when single quotes were being used in art titles or artist names
- - Corrected the link generation when the pound/number sign (#) was being used in art titles or artist names
Enjoy!
Success with Imagekind.com: Book Update - January 8, 2008

It is still possible, however unlikely, that I’ll have the book complete and up for sale in time for Affiliate Summit, which was an unstated goal of mine - well, not completely unstated… I did mention it to a few people, or else I wouldn’t even bother bringing it up
I’m confident that I will have it on the virtual shelves before the end of March, which was my stated goal.
So, where does it stand right now?
- Chapter list and topics, as well as front matter and indexes are finalized, barring any necessary changes that come up during production.
- Chapters one and six are complete, and chapters four and five are very close to completion.
- Chapters two, three and seven (rounding out the list) have been started, but aren’t close to completion.
- Lulu.com has been chosen as the printer, barring any other offers that come up in the next month or two.
I’ll be presenting Imagekind with chapter drafts in about three weeks or so. We’re getting close!
