When I was notified of the above comment “from” John Rutsey, I thought it was cute… I mean, it’s obviously not from Rutsey, but you know, whatever, right?

John Rutsey died on May 16th, 2008, just two days after that comment was posted.

[correction: the date of his passing was May 11th, 2008. The Rush.com website announced the news on the 18th, hence, my confusion.]

Without him, Rush would not have existed at all and the music landscape would be very, very different today.

Rest in peace, John Rutsey.

I’m so frustrated that they kicked me out!
If I wouldda stayed, Rush would have taken a much different road like Queen.

I was somewhat dismayed by your comment on Cinderella Man as being a “misstep”, it is a very classic Rush tune. It is loosely based on “Mr.Deeds Goes to Washington”. Its folksy upbeat verses, pastoral chorus and funky bridge/solo sections have Rush progressive power written all over it. I never get tired of playing that song.
